Hanging On
I know that things between us,
At the present don't seem right,
What once sparked, and once glistened,
No longer looks as bright.
Everyone looks for the excuses,
And the easy way out,
Instead of sweat for success,
We would rather pout.
Now it's a disposable generation,
Razors, diapers, swimsuits and pens,
Cameras, lighters and our marriages,
Even a contact lens.
Thinking the grass is always greener,
Just on the other side,
But that's just problem relocation,
We would rather run and hide.
Society is selfish and so lazy,
Now there is no shame,
Instead of seeking solutions,
We would rather blame.
I don't want to be a failure,
I made a vow to you,
I hope that you always feel the same,
Let us work our problems through.

Folks, please pass this on to your friends and family. If you know of anyone who is contemplating or going through a divorce, give this to them so that they can read it together. Folks, the grass is not always greener on the other side of the hill. If you cannot mow the lawn on this side, you surely cannot mow the on the other side! |
