Sweet Sparrow

Oh, sweet sparrow, how you once flew,
Soaring so beautifully, through skies so blue,
Breathing air that you've never known,     Gracefully flying, as you've never flown.

Your free spirit carried you so high,
Oh how you hungered for the sky,
Majestically to heights that you've never been,
Never wanting to land, nor descend.

Freely maneuvering without a care,
So uninhibited, so full of flare,
Flamboyantly winging, full of grace,
Well in command of your air and space.

Someone made you swoop so low,
Their windsheer crashed you to the ground below,
Predators lurk in the grass and sage,
To pounce on you in their rage.

Climb sweet sparrow, for you must soar,
To those same heights that you're longing for,
You'll fly again like you once flew,
Peace and happiness shall return to you.
