Last Wish

One coin left inside my pocket,
As I came upon a wishing well,
Hesitantly, I tossed it in,
Now only time will tell.

Whether my wish shall be granted,
Or it shall be denied,
Peace of mind or empty pockets,
At least I know I tried.

Once I had so many coins,
All were wasted in the past,
Broken dreams and empty promises,
Now I am down to my very last.

Life is but a coin toss,
Whether or not your dreams come true,
With my eyes closed, I heard it splash,
And I wished that I had you.
